En plein air
Photographs only go so far.
The rest is down to the
standing
looking
drawing
absorbing.
It’s the quick line that outlines,
a hatching of colour,
bleed of paint
as the eyes flick up and down
to record the essence,
features that sum up.
All the time the feeling
of what will pour out later,
in a different scale,
asking, ‘did you see this too?’
